Uveitis and intraocular inflammation

Uveitis is a general name for a range of inflammatory conditions affecting the tissues inside the eye. It can cause redness, pain, sensitivity to light, floaters or reduced vision; some types may follow a quieter course.

In treatment, the location and severity of the inflammation and the underlying cause are determined. Eye drops, systemic medications or other treatments may be used. Because stopping treatment early, outside the doctor's advice, can cause the disease to recur, regular follow-up is important.

The content on this website is intended for general information. It does not replace a diagnosis or a personalized treatment recommendation. The examination and treatment plan is drawn up by the physician after evaluating the person's health condition and eye examination findings.
