Glaucoma (eye pressure)

Glaucoma is a group of diseases that can cause progressive damage to the optic nerve. In most patients it can progress for a long time without symptoms. Intraocular pressure is an important measurement, but the diagnosis is not made by looking at the pressure value alone.

Assessments such as optic nerve examination, corneal thickness, visual field and OCT are considered together. Depending on the condition, eye drops, laser or surgical treatment options may be used. Regular follow-up is important for monitoring existing damage and the risk of progression.

The content on this website is intended for general information. It does not replace a diagnosis or a personalized treatment recommendation. The examination and treatment plan is drawn up by the physician after evaluating the person's health condition and eye examination findings.
