Laser treatments in eye diseases
Not every laser applied to the eye performs the same procedure. The corneal lasers used to correct refractive errors are different from the lasers used for glaucoma, retinal tears, diabetes-related retinal changes or the haziness that develops after cataract surgery.
The type of laser, its target tissue and its purpose are determined according to the disease. For this reason, 'eye laser' is not the name of a treatment in itself; the correct indication and the choice of a suitable device are made after a detailed examination.
