Children's eye health, strabismus and lazy eye (amblyopia)
Children cannot always tell us that they are not seeing clearly. Closing one eye to look, sitting close to the television, an eye that drifts, tilting the head to look, or having difficulty seeing the board at school may call for an eye examination.
A child's eyes can be examined even before the child can read. Early detection of refractive errors, strabismus and amblyopia is important for visual development. The assessment is planned according to the child's age, family history and examination findings.
